Designed and folded March 2026 from 18 square sheets of 3 inch (7.5 cm) kraft paper. This design evolved as a variation of my Roxy’s Star, which I taught at OrigamiUSA's recent Origami Connect session. The units are actually simpler to fold and have strong locks. Designed and folded February 2026 from 8 square sheets of 3.5 kraft paper. The locks are strong and the unit makes it easy to achieve 16 points with only 8 squares. I’m really happy with the result and plan to teach it at the Origami Deutschland convention in May!

Folded from 21 square sheets of kraft paper. This design was inspired by the by the CFC Origami “Red & Green” challenge, Brian Beitel’s modulars that I recently test folded, and my Logarithmic Spiral. This is a recursive modular, meaning each stage is folded from progressively smaller squares. This tiny 3-stage rendition is folded from 21 square sheets of kraft paper (7 sheets per stage, ranging from 1.33” to 3”). Diagrams are currently unavailable.

Folded from 40 uncut square sheets of double-sided kraft paper. This is a recursive modular, so this pattern can be repeated until the paper becomes too small to work with. The units have an asymmetrical folding sequence and are folded from a single square. Each stage is folded from eight units, and this rendition has five stages. All units and stages lock together securely. Diagrams are currently unavailable.

Folded from two uncut 30cm x 30cm square sheets of Stardream paper. I’ve been meaning to adapt my Logarithmic Spiral design into a box for years now. I recently saw a picture of Jorge Jaramillo’s Knob Box and was inspired to finally figure out a proper folding sequence. Both the box and lid are relatively easy to fold with simple references. Folded from 64 square sheets of European kraft paper. Each unit is folded from a single square and eight units can be assembled into a star. Consecutively smaller stars are then assembled to create the spiral. Since this is a fractal design, you can theoretically fold and connect as many stars as you’d like. This one has eight iterations of stars. I taught this model at OrigamiUSA's virtual FoldFest Spring 2023 event. Diagrams are currently unavailable.

They are simple to fold, lock together nicely from behind, and can easily be arranged into different configurations. The cubes can also be tessellated to enhance the illusion. Folded from five square sheets of kraft paper. This design is dedicated to Eugene Orihuel, my uncle’s father, who recently passed away after battling Coronavirus in Spain. This is the time of year when cherry blossoms are in full bloom, so I hope this design brings a little bit of happiness to Eugene’s wife, Evelyn, his son, Eric, and his friends and family who wish they could be together during these difficult times. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy as we do our part to slow the spread of this virus. I taught this model at the 2023 OrigamiUSA Convention. Folded from 40 square sheets of European kraft paper. Each unit is folded from one square and each iteration is assembled from 8 units. This is a fractal design, so you can theoretically fold as many iterations as you’d like. This model is essentially an octagonal version of my Interstellar design. The units are very different, but they are both inspired by the geometry of spidrons.

She has always been generous to the origami community and her work continues to inspire me. This particular design was inspired by her recent series of stars. Folded from an octagon cut from a 35cm x 35cm sheet of tant. This design evolved while experimenting with octagonal fractal designs. In the process, I stumbled upon an interesting way to create a 3-dimensional star which eventually led to this design.

Designed and folded February 2013. Each model folded from a hexagonal sheet of glassine. I have always been fascinated by the Fibonacci sequence, fractals, and waves, so after stumbling upon a picture of the Fibonacci rose tile, I knew I had to design an origami version of my own! What I find so interesting about this design is that the sizes of the equilateral triangles that make up each wave follow the Fibonacci number sequence-- allowing them to interlock seamlessly. The wave molecules can also be connected and tessellated, so check back soon for more pictures of that! Folded from a 35cm x 35cm square sheet of tant. After collapsing along all of the creases, you end up with a very interesting 3-dimensional tessellation. By simply flattening and twisting the tessellation, you achieve something like this! This model can be completely flattened, and the spiral can even be reversed by spinning the stars in the opposite direction. The crease pattern can be found in BOS Magazine 352.

Folded from twenty hexagonal sheets of tant. I have been trying to perfect this design for some time now, and I am finally satisfied with the result. My goal was to incorporate the EZ Star into each of the units. Designed and folded August 2011. Folded from a hexagon of golden wrapping paper. Obviously, this is not the best paper for this model, but I am pretty satisfied with the result. I don't typically fold or design tessellations and that made it particularly difficult to design and collapse this model.
