Designed and folded February 2026 from 8 square sheets of 3.5 kraft paper. The locks are strong and the unit makes it easy to achieve 16 points with only 8 squares. I’m really happy with the result and plan to teach it at the Origami Deutschland convention in May!

Folded from two uncut 30cm x 30cm square sheets of Stardream paper. I’ve been meaning to adapt my Logarithmic Spiral design into a box for years now. I recently saw a picture of Jorge Jaramillo’s Knob Box and was inspired to finally figure out a proper folding sequence. Both the box and lid are relatively easy to fold with simple references. Diagrams are currently unavailable.

Common Questions

What is the best origami for beginners?

Simple models like cranes, flowers, boxes, and other easy tutorials are great starting points because they teach core folds without too many steps.

Where should I start with easy origami?

Start with a beginner tutorial or diagram that uses clear step-by-step instructions, then move on to slightly more detailed models as you get comfortable.

Do I need special paper for easy origami?

No. Standard square origami paper is helpful, but many beginner models can also be practiced with any thin square paper.
